The Dixie Chicks’ recording of “Travelin’ Soldier” will be featured on a new CD of music that inspired filmmaker Michael Moore’s controversial film about President George Bush’s reaction following the World Trade Center bombing. Moore serves as executive album producer and writes a song-by-song commentary for Songs and Artists That Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11. The album also features songs by Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Steve Earle, Nanci Griffith, John Fogerty, Pearl Jam and the Clash. “Though the songs on this album aren’t ’mine,’ I feel them in me, and they urge me on to do the work we all need to do,” Moore says. The Dixie Chicks’ track was featured on their 2002 album, Home.
