Lynn’s Van Lear Rose on Shortlist

Loretta Lynn’s album Van Lear Rose is one of 10 albums up for the Shortlist Music Prize, an honor that recognizes artistic merit and innovation over sales. The winner will be announced at a Los Angeles concert in November and will receive $10,000. Other nominees include Franz Ferdinand, the Killers, Air, the Streets, Ghostface Killah, Dizzee Rascal, Nellie McKay, TV on the Radio and Wilco. The invitation-only panel of judges includes the Dixie Chicks, Norah Jones, John Mayer, film director Jim Jarmusch, actor-musician Jack Black and other well-respected musicians and journalists.
