George Hamilton IV Receives British Award
Grand Ole Opry member George Hamilton IV received the British Country Music Association's International Artist award in recognition of his frequent international tours and his work to expand country music's presence throughout the world. BCMA chairman Jim Marshall and vice chairman Mike Storey presented the award to Hamilton on Tuesday (Sept. 21) during a ceremony on Nashville's Music Row. In return, Hamilton complimented the BMCA by saying, "You've extended our career life far beyond being the hot, young country act -- beyond our bullets in Billboard."
