Larry Sparks Makes Solo Debut at Opry

Larry Sparks, a longtime bluegrass musician who won his first International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award this year, will make his debut solo appearance at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday (Nov. 5). Sparks joined the Stanley Brothers' band in 1964 and toured frequently with Ralph Stanley after Carter Stanley's death in 1966. A few years later, he left to form his own band, the Lonesome Ramblers. Sparks will release an album of duets, produced by Don Rigsby, in early 2005.
