Bogguss Brings Christmas Show to Nashville

Suzy Bogguss brought some yuletide cheer to Nashville's Belcourt Theater on Thursday night (Dec. 16). For the first hour, she drew heavily on her album Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, with tunes such as "Mr. Santa" and "Two-Step Around the Christmas Tree," and she sprinkled holiday tunes throughout the rest of her two-hour set. Noting that she had moved to Nashville with the dream of singing backup for Emmylou Harris, she and her band delivered a cover of "O Beautiful Town of Bethlehem." In addition to performing a few of her hits ("Someday Soon," "Letting Go"), she also offered several songs from her 2003 Swing album. Bogguss' other holiday tour stops this year included Philadelphia, Alexandria, Va., and Annapolis, Md.
