Ivey, Marsh Named to Music Posts

Bill Ivey, who once headed the Country Music Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, has been named the new president-elect of the American Folklore Society. Ivey will retain his position as the director of the Curb Center for Art, Enterprise and Public Policy at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. … In related news, music journalist Dave Marsh has been elected to the board of directors of American Roots Publishing. The organization recently received a Grammy nomination for its debut album, Beautiful Dreamer: The Songs of Stephen Foster. Artists who appeared on the album include David Ball, Suzy Bogguss, Raul Malo and Mavis Staples.
