Harris, Friends Play Tootsie's Between Opry Sets

In between playing two shows at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night (Jan. 15), Emmylou Harris brought her musical friends to the back room of Tootsie's for an unannounced jam session. Joining her on stage were Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, who all toured together last summer as the Sweet Harmony Traveling Revue. Songs included during the half-hour set included Bob Dylan's "When I Paint My Masterpiece," the soul classic "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man" and Dave Dudley's "Six Days on the Road." Terri Clark, who was also on the Opry that night, and Mindy Smith were both spotted in the crowd at the packed-to-the-walls club.
