Hall of Fame Plans Second Night Train CD

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is continuing to explore Nashville’s rhythm & blues heritage with a second CD volume of Night Train to Nashville. The discs coincide with a museum exhibit running through December 2005. Released on CMF/Lost Highway Records, the two-disc Night Train to Nashville: Music City Rhythm & Blues, 1945-1970 is nominated for a Grammy in the best historical album category. Set for release this summer, Night Train to Nashville, Vol. 2 will feature obscure tracks such as Freddie North’s original of “She’s All I Got.” In separate recordings, North and Johnny Paycheck each scored hits with the song in 1971. The new compilation will also include a rare 1952 recording by Gay Crosse featuring a saxophone solo by future jazz legend John Coltrane.
