IBMA to Revive Fiddle Championship

Once a premiere event in the bluegrass field, the Grand Master Fiddler Championship will take place in October for the first time since 1997. The competition coincides with the International Bluegrass Music Association's (IBMA) World of Bluegrass week in Nashville. The original contest began in 1972. Past participants include Sam Bush, Alison Krauss and Mark O'Connor. Howard Harris and Ed Carnes established a non-profit corporation to sponsor the event. The competition is scheduled for Oct. 28 and 29.
