Trace Adkins was presented a platinum album plaque during Capitol Records Nashville’s noontime concert Friday (March 4) at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. Label chief Mike Dungan made the presentation while hosting show featuring Jamie O’Neal and newcomers Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand. Adkins’ Comin’ On Strong is the second platinum album of his career. O’Neal performed material from her upcoming album, Brave, including the current single, “Trying to Find Atlantis,” as well as her first two No. 1 singles, “There Is No Arizona” and “When I Think About Angels.” Shupe and his band, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, are a five-piece act that could be described as Diamond Rio meet New Grass Revival — with choreography. With Shupe providing lead vocals and playing guitar, fiddle and mandolin, they combine strong harmonies, instrumental prowess and an energetic stage presence.
