Terri Clark to Announce Finalists for the '2005 CMT Music Awards'

Nominees Will Be Revealed Next Week for April 11 Awards Show

Terri Clark will announce the finalists for the 2005 CMT Music Awards, country music's only fan-voted awards show, when she hosts a news conference Wednesday (March 16) in Nashville.

This year's only country music awards televised from Nashville, the 2005 CMT Music Awards will premiere live April 11 on CMT. Joining show host Jeff Foxworthy, the star-studded performance lineup will include Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Big & Rich, Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson and more.

Once Clark has announced the finalists, fans will again be able to vote online at CMT.com through April 8 to determine the winners for male video of the year, female video of the year, group/duo video of the year, collaborative video of the year, hottest video of the year, breakthrough video of the year, most inspiring video of the year and video director of the year. Winners will be announced on the 2005 CMT Music Awards. The four finalists for video of the year will be announced during the live awards show telecast, and fans will be able to vote during the live telecast at CMT.com to determine the winner of this coveted award.

Clark, a hard-charging traditionalist, hit the charts in 1995 with "Better Things to Do" -- and never looked back. With three platinum albums, a reputation for high-energy concerts and a string of hits that includes "Easy on the Eyes," "When Boy Meets Girl," "I Wanna Do It All," "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me" and "Girls Lie Too," Clark is the only solo woman in more than three years with two No.1 singles. She is the reigning Canadian Country Music Association entertainer of the year, an honor she has won five times. Clark is also a former CMT Flame Worthy Video Awards nominee and presenter. She will release her seventh album later this year.

Tickets for the 2005 CMT Music Awards at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 615-255-9600 and online at CMT.com and ticketmaster.com.
