Johnny Cash’s Former Manager Dies

Music executive Saul Israel Holiff, who guided Johnny Cash’s career during its most turbulent period during the ’60s, died March 17 at his home in Nanaimo, British Columbia at age 80. A former concert promoter, Holiff became Cash’s manager in the early ’60s and continued in that capacity until 1973. Through the years, his other management clients included the Statler Brothers and Canadian star Tommy Hunter. No funeral service is planned.
