George Canyon Wins Juno Award
George Canyon won a Juno Award (the Canadian equivalent of a Grammy) on Saturday night (April 2) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in the category of country recording. The title track to his album, One Good Friend, won over music from Paul Brandt, Terri Clark, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Shania Twain. Jenny Whiteley's Hopetown won for roots and traditional album by a solo artist. The Wailin' Jennys' 40 Days won for best roots and traditional album by a group.
