Honky-tonk singer Dale Watson will team with two Nashville legends — producer Aubrey Mayhew and steel guitarist Lloyd Green — during a series of Nashville recording sessions in late April. Mayhew is best known for producing Johnny Paycheck’s classic work on Little Darlin’ Records in the 1960s. As a studio musician, Green’s extensive credits include Paycheck’s Little Darlin’ sides, the Byrds’ Sweetheart of the Rodeo and recordings with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Watson, who has never recorded in Nashville, will cover songs from the Dream City Music song catalog recently acquired by Koch Records. Koch will release two albums from the sessions — the first in August and another to follow in March 2006.
