The Home Depot Considers Purchase of Jim Reeves’ Home

A rundown property that once housed Jim Reeves’ home and museum is likely to be purchased by The Home Depot. Located at a busy intersection in the Nashville suburbs, the site’s buildings may be too expensive to repair and would thus be exempt from a preservation law, according to The Tennessean newspaper. The home was built in 1794 by one of Nashville’s earliest settlers. One of the property’s current owners, Robert N. Moore Jr., has told the Metropolitan Historical Commission that restoring the house and keeping it on site doesn’t fit his plans.
