Carter, Shaver, Snider Perform Songs Admired by Tom T. Hall

Carlene Carter, Billy Joe Shaver and Todd Snider were among the singer-songwriters performing songs handpicked by Tom T. Hall at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on Wednesday night (Aug. 10). Carter and cousin Lorrie Bennett Davis sang "Keep on the Sunny Side" and "Me and the Wildwood Rose," Shaver sang three of his own songs before dueting with Hall on "Old Five and Dimers," and Snider performed Hall's "Fallen Woman" and Kris Kristofferson's "To Beat the Devil." Additional musicians offered modern favorites like "When I Close My Eyes," "Who Needs Pictures" and "The Little Girl." Hall, the museum's artist-in-residence this year, sang "Busted" in tribute to his late friend, songwriter Harlan Howard.
