Mandrell Honored by American Legion Auxiliary

Barbara Mandrell has been named the first recipient of the American Legion Auxiliary’s Lifetime Achievement award. She will receive the honor Tuesday (Aug. 23) during the organization’s national convention in Honolulu. In announcing the award, American Legion Auxiliary president Sandi Dutton said, “She’s always had a place for God and country in all that she does and has always been a firm supporter of our men and women in uniform.” Mandrell retired from the stage in 1997.
