The Country Music Association is promoting a weeklong series of events in New York leading up to the CMA Awards show at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 15. Billed as Country Takes NYC, the promotion is aimed at calling attention to country music. Beginning Nov. 9, the CMA is initiating a daily theme designated to food, education, history, entertainment, sports and fashion. History Day, set for Nov. 11, will find country artists marching in the city’s annual Veterans Day parade. Later in the day, Trace Adkins will honor veterans at the Intrepid Museum, and Charlie Daniels, Mark Wills and Darryl Worley will appear at the American Freedom Festival at the Roseland Ballroom. Country Takes NYC is co-sponsored by NYC Big Events Inc.
