Bluegrass veteran Tim O'Brien will release two new albums on Tuesday (Sept. 13) on Sugar Hill Records. Cornbread Nation was inspired by a book and radio show with that title. The other one, Fiddler's Green, draws heavily on the somewhat darker elements of folk music. ... Other new releases on independent labels include bluegrass ensemble Steep Canyon Rangers' One Dime at a Time (Rebel), Kentucky power pop band the Muckrakers' Front of the Parade (Toucan Cove/Label X), songwriter Pieta Brown's In the Cool (Valley) and folk-rocker Dana Cooper's Made of Mud (King Easy).
