One Country Concert Delayed

CMT’s One Country concert has been postponed because of the intensifying threat of Hurricane Rita to Houston and surrounding areas. Originally set for Oct. 1 at Houston’s Reliant Stadium, the concert was scheduled to feature George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, Martina McBride and ZZ Top as a televised fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Katrina. However, with Hurricane Rita scheduled to hit the Texas coast and southwest Louisiana this weekend, CMT and concert producer Louis Messina determined the potential danger posed by the storm and its aftermath will not allow enough time to produce a stadium concert and that the risks are too great to artists, vendors and volunteers to commit their efforts to the endeavor at this time. Current ticket holders may hold on to their tickets for a rescheduled show.
