Parton’s Song Nominated for Golden Globe Award

Dolly Parton’s “Travelin’ Thru” has been nominated for a Golden Globe award for best original song in a motion picture. Nominations were announced Tuesday morning (Dec. 13). The song comes from Transamerica, which also secured a nomination for actress Felicity Huffman, who plays a transgendered woman who learns she’s the parent of a long lost 17-year-old son. … In other Golden Globe nominations, Walk the Line, the Johnny Cash biopic, is up for best motion picture in the musical or comedy category. Joaquin Phoenix (who portrays Cash) and Reese Witherspoon (cast as June Carter Cash) are nominated for best actor and actress in a musical or comedy. The Golden Globes are presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The awards ceremony takes place March 5 in Hollywood.
