Country in the Rockies Wraps Up in Colorado
Country in the Rockies, an annual fundraiser for cancer research, wrapped up this week in Crested Butte, Colo., with appearances by Clint Black, Little Big Town, John Corbett and several others. Organizers are still tallying the total revenues generated during the five days of music and skiing, but the opening night concert raised more than $65,000, and an informal club performance featuring Black, Little Big Town and songwriters Doug Johnson, Dean Dillon, Chas Sanford and Wayne Kirkpatrick generated more than $75,000. Others participating in this year's event included Blue County, Hanna-McEuen, Suzy Bogguss, Jeff Hanna, Matraca Berg, Jon Randall, Jessi Alexander and Steve Cropper. Country in the Rockies benefits the T.J. Martell Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the Frances Williams Preston Laboratories at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville.
