Mark Wills has signed to the Equity Music Group and is recording an album scheduled for release this summer. Beginning with his 1996 single, “Jacob’s Ladder,” Wills scored eight Top 10 singles on Mercury Records. Two of the releases — 1999’s “Wish You Were Here” and 2002’s “19 Somethin'” — went to No. 1. Songwriter Brett James, who is producing Wills’ new album, noted, “I’ve known Mark for years and never thought that the music quite matched who he is as a person and as an artist. I think we are going to rock a lot of people’s preconceived notions about the kind of records he can make.” Equity’s roster also includes Little Big Town and Clint Black.
