Lambert, Van Zant Perform at Sony’s CRS Luncheon

Miranda Lambert and Van Zant cranked up the volume for luncheon performances Thursday (Feb. 16) at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. In an ironic twist, Van Zant — the brother duo of Johnny and Donnie Van Zant — were brought to the stage by the synthesizer line that opens the Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” In their second year performing at the convention, Van Zant performed songs from their Columbia debut album, Get Right With the Man, before closing with a family classic, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama.” Lambert concentrated on songs from her Epic debut album, Kerosene, and offered a clever cover of The Band’s “Up on Cripple Creek.” The performance was sponsored by Sony Music, parent company of Columbia and Epic.
