During the RCA Label Group’s main promotional event during Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, label executives presented Kenny Chesney with a plaque commemorating his sales of 25 million albums. RLG Chairman Joe Galante surprised him with the award Thursday night (Feb. 16) during the company’s annual party on the General Jackson riverboat. Chesney signed with RLG’s BNA Records imprint 11 years ago after failing to see any of his singles for Capricorn Records rise any higher than No. 59 on the charts. “It’s a long way from that first RCA boat show that I went on in 1994,” he said.
