Nelson’s Atlantic Albums to Be Expanded

Willie Nelson’s two albums recorded for Atlantic Records in the early 1970s will be expanded and released on June 20 on Rhino Records. Titled Willie Nelson: The Complete Atlantic Sessions, the three-disc boxed set includes 1973’s Shotgun Willie, 1974’s Phases and Stages and a live album recorded during two concerts in Austin in 1974. All three discs include previously unreleased material. Nelson subsequently boosted his recording career by releasing a concept album, Red Headed Stranger, on Columbia Records in 1975. He is scheduled to play in Hawaii Wednesday (April 19) and Saturday (April 22) before touring Canada with opening act Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
