Chris Young Wins 'Nashville Star' Competition

Singer-songwriter Chris Young has been signed to RCA Records Nashville as part of his prize for winning the fourth edition of the national talent search, Nashville Star. The 20-year-old resident of the Nashville suburb of Murfreesboro, Tenn., received the most votes from TV viewers Tuesday night (May 2) to beat two other finalists -- Casey Rivers, 23, of Lindale, Texas, and Nicole Jamrose, 34, of Schererville, Ind. Young, who most recently fronted the house band at Cowboy's, a Dallas-area club, has opened shows for Ronnie Milsap, Tracy Lawrence, Lonestar and others. Plans call for his first RCA album to be released this fall.
