Sony Music’s Top Executives Suddenly Resign

The top two executives at the Sony Music Label Group resigned Thursday (June 1), the latest fallout from a tumultuous merger between Sony and BMG. The sudden departure of chairman/CEO Don Ienner and president/COO Michele Anthony (president) comes as Sony BMG’s new chief executive, Rolf Schmidt-Holtz, is restructuring the company. Rob Stringer will begin his role as president of Sony Music Label Group on Sept. 1. He is currently the chairman/CEO of Sony BMG’s British offices.
