Keith Urban and actress Nicole Kidman were married Sunday night (June 25) during a ceremony at a Catholic chapel at St. Patrick’s College near Sydney, Australia.
Following the ceremony, the couple released a statement saying, “We just want to thank everyone in Australia and around the world who have sent us their warm wishes.”
Kidman, 39, wore a white Balenciaga gown and veil at the 90-minute ceremony. Urban wore a white rose on the lapel of his black suit that was complemented by a white vest and black necktie.
Accompanied by her father, Antony, Kidman traveled to the church in a Rolls Royce limousine that was followed by media helicopters from her harborside home. Urban. 38, apparently managed to arrive at the church without being noticed by the media.
The bride’s sister Antonia arrived at the church with Kidman’s daughter Isabella, 13. Kidman’s son Connor, 11, was also expected to take part in the wedding. Both children were adopted by Kidman and ex-husband Tom Cruise during their 10-year marriage that ended in 2001.
The Associated Press reported that Australian-born actor Hugh Jackman was among the first guests to arrive. Others who were expected to attend the wedding included actor Russell Crowe, actress Naomi Watts and media mogul Rupert Murdoch. Some 230 friends and family reportedly attended the ceremony.
