Macaroni and Tomatoes

I prepare this dish by the way it tastes and the way it looks. It’s so good, I’ll try and write what I do. My 15-month-old granddaughter Mattie will eat mac and tomatoes until she almost pops.

2 cups peeled and diced fresh tomatoes
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
pinch black pepper
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni

Put tomatoes, water, salt, sugar and pepper in a sauce pan. Cook on medium, uncovered, until soft — 15 minutes or more. Cook macaroni according to package directions, cooking 11 minutes. Drain macaroni and add to tomatoes. Allow to cook, stirring if needed, maybe 10 minutes. Taste and add more seasonings if needed.
