Dixie Chicks Documentary Gets Distribution Deal

The producers of an upcoming documentary titled Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing have reached a worldwide distribution deal with the Weinstein Company. The film will likely be widely released around the time of the November elections in the U.S.. However, it will have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September. The documentary focuses on the aftermath of the Chicks’ career after Natalie Maines criticized President Bush at a London concert in 2003.
