Nickel Creek to Take a Break in Late 2007

The band Nickel Creek will release a compilation album before going on hiatus at the end of 2007 to allow its three members to pursue solo projects. Set for release Nov. 14, Nickel Creek: Reasons Why (The Very Best) will include fan favorites from the trio's three albums for Sugar Hill Records, several exclusive live tracks and all of their music videos. Chris Thile is releasing a new solo album, How to Grow a Woman From the Ground, on Sept. 12 and plans to record an album and tour with bassist-composer Edgar Meyer later this year. Sara Watkins will complete a self-produced solo album, and Sean Watkins is exploring work in film scoring. The band will continue to tour later this year and in early 2007.
