J.D. Crowe & New South to Release New Album Oct. 10

Bluegrass band J.D. Crowe & the New South will release their first album in seven years on Oct. 10 on Rounder Records. Titled Lefty’s Old Guitar, the project is the first to feature New South’s current lineup — Rickey Wasson (guitar, vocals), Dwight McCall (mandolin, vocals), Ron Stewart (fiddle) and Harold Nixon (bass). Guests on the album include steel player Doug Jernigan and singer Cia Cherryholmes. Crowe is a member of the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Hall of Honor and has twice been named the organization’s banjo player of the year.
