Mary Chapin Carpenter Signs to Rounder

Mary Chapin Carpenter has signed a new record deal with Rounder Records and will release a new album, The Calling, on the label’s rock/pop imprint, Zoë Records, in March 2007. The album was co-produced by Matt Rollings and will include all new original songs. Carpenter previously recorded for Columbia Nashville, where she sold more than 12 million albums. A five-time Grammy winner, Carpenter’s hits include “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her” and “Shut Up and Kiss Me.”
