Jimmy Buffett Forecasts Country Weather

Jimmy Buffett’s new country album, Take the Weather With You, will be released Oct. 10 on Mailboat Records/RCA Nashville. The title refers to his version of “Weather With You,” a song written by Tim and Neil Finn and originally recorded by Crowded House in 1991. The album also includes his latest single, “Bama Breeze,” a tribute to historic bars along the Gulf Coast. He also covers Merle Haggard’s “Silver Wings” and Mary Gauthier’s “Wheel Within a Wheel.” Buffett said, “Without realizing it, I went to my roots on this record. It’s not a stretch for me to do country music.” Buffett’s previous album, License to Chill, debuted at No. 1 on the pop and country charts in 2004 and included the No. 1 country duet with Alan Jackson, “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.”
