Alabama, Jones and Haggard Among New Releases

A number of new country albums were released Tuesday (Oct. 24) from legends and newcomers alike. Alabama’s Songs of Inspiration (RCA) is their first new album in five years. George Jones and Merle Haggard cover each other’s classics on Kickin’ Out the Footlights … Again (Bandit). Montgomery’s Gentry’s Some People Change (Columbia) features the hit title track. Taylor Swift’s self-titled debut (Big Machine) includes her first single, “Tim McGraw.” In addition, a remastered and expanded version of Lucinda Williams’ 1998 Grammy-winning Car Wheels on a Gravel Road (Lost Highway) includes previously-unreleased tracks and a second disc with a full concert performance.
