American Music Awards Honor Country Stars

Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood were among the winners at the American Music Awards held Tuesday night (Nov. 21) in Hollywood. Among country artists, Hill won for favorite female artist. Keith won favorite male artist. McGraw’s Greatest Hits Vol. 2 won favorite country album, and Underwood won breakthrough artist in all genres. Rascal Flatts won two awards — for favorite group among all genres and the T-Mobile Text-In award, with votes submitted by fans. The Dixie Chicks also performed “Easy Silence” during the ceremony.
