Carrie Underwood’s Album Is Quintuple Platinum

Some Hearts, Carrie Underwood’s debut album, has been certified quintuple platinum by the RIAA for shipments of 5 million copies. In making the announcement Wednesday (Jan. 10), officials at 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville said the accomplishment has earned Underwood the fastest quintuple-platinum certification ever for a debut album by a female country artist. Released Nov. 15, 2005, Some Hearts has spent a total of 20 weeks at the top of Billboard’s country albums chart. “Wasted,” the album’s opening track, is Underwood’s next single.
