Skaggs, Hornsby Tape Ovation-Laden Crossroads

Bruce Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs drew a capacity, standing-room-only crowd to the Factory in Franklin, Tenn., for Thursday’s (Jan. 18) taping of CMT Crossroads. Performing songs from their forthcoming collaborative CD (due March 20), as well as such well-known hits as Hornsby’s “Mandolin Rain” and Skaggs’ “Don’t Get Above Your Raising,” the two swapped lead vocals and instrumentals, as well as quips and jokes. Backed by Skaggs’ award-winning Kentucky Thunder band, they were joined by country singer John Anderson for “Super Freak,” a crowd favorite. The program is set to air Feb. 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
