Hall of Fame Offering Rare Ray Price Tracks

A collection of 13 rare recordings Ray Price made for the U.S. Armed Forces Radio Service will be released by the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum as digital downloads on April 3. Released in conjunction with Vault Alliance, a digital media company, Invitation to the Blues: Live Recordings, 1957-1963 will be available exclusively at iTunes. The collection features several of Price’s Top 10 hits, including “City Lights” and “Curtain in the Window,” along with Moon Mullican’s “I’ll Sail My Ship Alone” and Hank Williams’ “Take These Chains From My Heart.” The live version of “Invitation to the Blues” features harmony vocals by its writer, Roger Miller, who was a member of Price’s band, the Cherokee Cowboys. Price’s latest project, Last of the Breed, a collaboration with fellow Country Music Hall of Fame members Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson, will be released March 20 by Lost Highway Records.
