Brad Paisley’s wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, delivered their first child early Thursday morning (Feb. 22) in Nashville. Their son, who has not yet been named, weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, the singer’s father Doug Paisley told CBS-TV affiliate WTRF in Wheeling, W.Va.
Brad Paisley, 34, is a native of Glen Dale, W.Va., and his family still resides in the state.
Kimberly Williams-Paisley, 35, is best known for her role on the long-running TV sitcom, According to Jim. Her numerous film credits include the 1991 comedy, Father of the Bride, and the 1995 sequel, Father of the Bride II, both starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton.
The couple first met when she appeared in Paisley’s 2002 video, “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” They were married on March 15, 2003, in Malibu, Calif., and now reside on an 85-acre farm near Nashville.
During Friday night’s (Feb. 16) performance on the Grand Ole Opry, Little Jimmy Dickens surprised Paisley by rolling out a red Radio Flyer wagon filled with gifts for the baby.
Paisley’s 2007 performance schedule included a Wednesday (Feb. 28) appearance at the third annual Music City Jam, a private concert during Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. In October, however, he asked to be excused from the CRS performance because of his wife’s projected due date. Toby Keith was named as Paisley’s replacement as the concert’s headliner.
