Kenny Chesney Plays Surprise Show in Nashville

Kenny Chesney was scheduled to celebrate his 39th birthday with a Monday night (March 26) performance at the Tin Roof, a nightspot located near Nashville’s Music Row. Word of show began to circulate late Monday afternoon, and a long line of fans hoping to gain admission to the bar extended down Demonbreun Street more than an hour before the scheduled 6 p.m. show. Chesney calls the informal club shows his Keg in the Closet tour, but this marks the first time he has made such an appearance in Nashville. In a press release, Chesney said, “It gives me a chance to celebrate with a lot of people who are important to me who I never get to see because we’re usually on the road on my birthday.” Chesney and his band have been rehearsing his upcoming Flip Flop Summer Tour.
