Chesney's Celebrity Friends Show Up for Birthday Bash

Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Gretchen Wilson and Jewel were among Kenny Chesney's celebrity friends who showed up Monday night (March 26) at a Nashville bar to help him celebrate his 39th birthday. Backed by his band, Chesney performed a lengthy set that included his hits and an array of cover songs, including U2's "With or Without You," the Rolling Stones' "Honky Tonk Women" and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Gimme Three Steps" and "Sweet Home Alabama." Several of his friends joined him onstage, including Wilson, Montgomery Gentry and Sara Evans. Also attending the event at the Tin Roof were Kix Brooks, Big & Rich, Tracy Lawrence, songwriter Craig Wiseman and video director Shaun Silva. Several hundred people waited at the club once the free show was announced earlier Monday to Chesney's fan club members. Chesney has frequently performed the impromptu club shows in other cities during his Keg in the Closet tour. His Flip Flop Summer Tour with Sugarland and Pat Green kicks off April 12 in Omaha, Neb.
