Lucinda Williams headlined a lively concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Friday night (March 30), balancing new music and fan favorites for nearly two hours. She commented that most of the songs in her set list were written in Nashville, where she used to live. “I tell you what, I’ve raised some serious s— in this town. It’s a hell-raising town,” she said. She was backed by guitarist Doug Pettibone, bassist David Sutton and drummer Don Heffington. Later in the show, Buddy Miller also joined her on “Joy.” She closed the show with a cover of Bobbie Gentry’s “Ode to Billie Joe.” Williams now lives in Los Angeles. She released a new album, West, in February.
