Gretchen Wilson’s 10-city club tour has raised more than $1.5 million for charity. Billed as the Back to the Bars tour, the concerts at bars and clubs raised money for a variety of organizations, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Wilson said, “We’ve done all these huge arenas and stadiums over the past three years, which has been amazing, but there’s nothing like playing for people standing just a few feet away. It was really rewarding to be able to go back to these cities and these radio stations who supported us from the very beginning and give something back.” … In related news, Wilson will perform on VH1 Rock Honors on May 12 in Las Vegas. Wilson, Nickelback and Keane will offer tributes to Genesis, Heart, Ozzy Osbourne and ZZ Top. The show airs May 24 on VH1. Wilson joined Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson to sing “Crazy on You” at the 2005 CMT Music Awards.
