Billy Currington Enjoys His Biggest Hit Yet

"Good Directions" Spends Third Week at No. 1 on Billboard

Billy Currington must be doin’ somethin’ right as his latest single, “Good Directions,” spends its third week at No. 1 on Billboard‘s country airplay chart. This marks the longest he’s stayed at the top spot. “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right” spent two weeks at No. 1 in late 2005. His other Top 10 singles include “Party for Two” (with Shania Twain), “I Got a Feelin’” and “Walk a Little Straighter.”

Emerson Drive’s “Moments” parks at No. 2 for the second week. Brad Paisley’s “Ticks” climbs a notch to No. 3, trailed by Tracy Lawrence’s “Find Out Who Your Friends Are” at No. 4. Toby Keith’s “High Maintenance Woman” drops to No. 5 after peaking at No. 3 last week. Alan Jackson’s “A Woman’s Love” lands at No. 6, followed by Montgomery Gentry’s “Lucky Man,” George Strait’s “Wrapped,” Big & Rich’s “Lost in This Moment” and, at No. 10, Rascal Flatts’ “Stand.”

Phil Vassar’s “This Is My Life,” his first single for the Universal South label, earns the week’s highest debut at No. 49. Other new arrivals are Dierks Bentley’s “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)” at No. 55, Collin Raye’s “A Soldier’s Prayer” at No. 59 and Steve Holy’s “Men Buy the Drinks (Girls Call the Shots)” at No. 60.

Female artists hold the top three spots on the country albums chart. Carrie Underwood’s Some Hearts returns to No. 1 and Taylor Swift rises to No. 2, her highest chart position yet. Gretchen Wilson’s One of the Boys, which topped last week’s chart, takes a significant tumble in its second-week sales total to land at No. 3. Tim McGraw’s Let It Go and Rascal Flatts’ Me and My Gang maintain their chart positions from last week, at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. The latest albums from Miranda Lambert, Alison Krauss, Martina McBride, Sugarland and Blake Shelton round out the Top 10.

No new albums debuted on the country chart this week.
