Toby Keith is planning the release of A Classic Christmas, a two-CD set featuring new recordings of traditional holiday songs. Scheduled to arrive in stores this fall, it’s his first holiday album since Christmas to Christmas, a 1995 release that featured his original compositions. A Classic Christmas will be divided between secular and religious songs. The first disc will include “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland” and “Frosty the Snowman.” The second disc will feature “Little Drummer Boy,” “Silent Night,” “Away in a Manger” and “We Three Kings,” among others. “There’s a reason people gravitate to these songs year after year, and I’m no exception,” Keith says. “I wouldn’t have considered making another Christmas record if not for the fact that I hadn’t done any of these the first time around. And doing a double-disc set let us go back and get just about all the big ones.” He and Randy Scruggs co-produced the CD for release on Keith’s Show Dog Nashville label.
