A two-CD set titled Gram Parsons Archive Vol. 1: The Flying Burrito Brothers “Live” at the Avalon Ballroom 1969 will be released by Amoeba Records on Oct. 30. This is the first time the concert recordings will be available. Recorded in San Francisco when the band opened for the Grateful Dead, the album includes 27 tracks, including never-before-heard rarities. The tapes were found in the Grateful Dead vault and were recorded by the Dead’s sound engineer Bear (Owsley Stanley).
