Ricky Skaggs and the Whites have recorded their first album together, Salt of the Earth, which will be released Sept. 25 on Skaggs Family Records. Lead vocals are shared between Skaggs, his wife Sharon, sister-in-law Cheryl and father-in-law Buck. Skaggs' band, Kentucky Thunder, performs on the album as well. The gospel project includes hymns such as "Farther Along" and "Blessed Assurance," gospel classics like "Wreck on the Highway" and "Wings of a Dove," and five new songs.
