Sara Evans' Divorce Is Granted

After almost a year of back-and-forth allegations, Sara Evans and Craig Schelske were granted a divorce Friday (Sept. 28) by a judge in Hickman County, Tenn. Attorneys representing Evans and Schelske told 21st Judicial District Chancery Court Judge Robert E. Lee Davis that an agreement was reached that includes a joint custody plan for the couple's three children and a division of all marital assets. The 21st Judicial District includes Williamson County, where the couple lived and where Evans filed for divorce on Oct. 12, 2006. Since then, court documents filed on behalf of Evans and Schelske have included a series of allegations, including adultery. Their attorneys have submitted a court document stating that their clients will "have no further comment regarding any allegations of fault or misconduct alleged by either party." Evans and Schelske were married in 1993. Evans is scheduled to perform Saturday (Sept. 29) in Lawrenceburg, Ind.
